VIBE Magazine is officially returning to print.
After years of operating primarily as a digital platform, the iconic hip-hop and culture magazine announced plans to relaunch physical print issues, marking a major nostalgic moment for longtime fans of music journalism and urban media culture.
For many hip-hop fans, VIBE represented an era.
Founded in the 1990s by Quincy Jones, the publication became one of the defining voices in hip-hop, R&B, fashion, and Black culture throughout the late ’90s and 2000s. Classic covers featuring artists like Tupac, Aaliyah, Lil Kim, Jay-Z, Nas, Beyoncé, and Missy Elliott became cultural moments of their own.
According to the announcement, the return to print will focus on premium collectible-style issues featuring longform storytelling, photography, interviews, and culture-driven editorial content rather than traditional monthly magazine distribution.
Social media reactions to the news were overwhelmingly positive, with many fans saying they miss the feeling of physically owning magazines that documented major moments in hip-hop history.
At a time when most media has shifted completely digital, VIBE’s decision to return to print feels like a reminder that some parts of culture still hit differently in your hands.
