Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul Honors Gangsta Boo On The First Anniversary Of Her Death

DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia commenced the year 2024 by paying tribute to his late colleague, Gangsta Boo, on the first anniversary of her passing. The 46-year-old rapper took to Instagram on January 1 to commemorate the life and enduring influence of the “Mask 2 My Face” artist.

In a heartfelt post, DJ Paul shared a graphic featuring multiple edited photos of Gangsta Boo, one of which depicted her with a halo around her head. The background played her record titled “Love Don’t Live (U Abandoned Me).” In the caption, DJ Paul expressed his sentiments, saying, “1 Year Today & I Can Feel It! Started Feeling it A Month Ago. Rest Queen, You’ve Worked Hard Enough #ripgangstaboo #longlivelola #mafia.”

La Chat, a fellow Memphis rapper, also honored Gangsta Boo with a tribute post, calling out the person responsible for supplying Boo with laced drugs. La Chat wrote, “One of da Saddesst days of my life!! LongLiveGangstaboo FukDaDealer,UAKilla’ CowardAXXNicca.”

Gangsta Boo, whose real name was Chantrelle Lola Mitchell, was discovered unresponsive in her mother’s Memphis residence on January 1, 2023. The 43-year-old rapper was pronounced dead at the scene, and it was later disclosed that she had succumbed to an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol (alcohol).

Reports indicated that Boo’s brother, E Gutta, was present during the tragic incident and also suffered an overdose. While Gutta survived and was hospitalized, in August, Three 6 Mafia member Crunchy Black shared a message from one of Gutta’s inmates, alleging that he sabotaged his sister out of financial resentment. Black suggested that Gutta should take his own life for his alleged actions.

Gutta addressed these claims on the Murder Master Music Show last month, dismissing them as a conspiracy. He stated, “It’s crazy because that’s somebody I thought I knew, but I don’t know him no more. It’s a conspiracy, man! Dudes like that are beneath me. We don’t even discuss guys like that because they don’t hold no merit where I’m from. Dudes like that don’t even exist in the Mafia name. They been X’d out. We don’t even talk about guys like that. They don’t even matter. Dudes like that, we don’t even discuss.”
