Stefon Diggs is walking away from a major legal battle after being acquitted Tuesday on assault-related charges tied to an alleged incident involving his former private chef.
The case centered around claims that Diggs assaulted the woman during a December argument at his Massachusetts home. Prosecutors accused the NFL star of strangulation and assault, while Diggs maintained from day one that the incident never happened.
After just two days of trial proceedings, jurors cleared him of all charges.
Throughout the case, Diggs’ defense team focused heavily on inconsistencies in the accuser’s story, along with testimony from multiple people in his circle who claimed they saw no visible injuries in the days following the alleged altercation.
The courtroom also heard details surrounding a financial dispute between the two, which became a major focus during cross-examination.
Even with the acquittal, Diggs may not be fully in the clear professionally. The National Football League has reportedly continued reviewing the situation under its personal conduct policy, meaning league discipline could still be possible regardless of the verdict.
The legal win comes at a critical point in Diggs’ career following his recent release from New England Patriots earlier this year.
For now, though, the courtroom chapter appears closed, and Diggs walks away legally cleared.
