Soleil Turns Heartbreak Into Self-Love With New R&B/Soul Single “Heart Strings”

Singer-songwriter, DJ, and vocal producer Soleil is stepping into a new chapter with “Heart Strings,” a soulful and emotionally charged single that transforms the complicated emotions of heartbreak into a message of self-worth, growth, and reclamation.
Following her jazzy interpretation of Dolly Parton’s timeless classic “Jolene,” released as “(A) Jolene (Cover),” Soleil returns with an original record that gives listeners a deeper look into her artistry. “Heart Strings” blends R&B and Soul with elements of Blues, Funk, Jazz, and Neo-Soul, creating a moody yet uplifting soundscape that allows her powerful vocal range to take center stage.
At its core, “Heart Strings” is about what happens after a relationship ends — the memories that remain, the questions that linger, and ultimately, the process of finding yourself again.
“‘Heart Strings’ explores the phases of a less-than-ideal relationship, so the lyrics move from questioning the past to embracing personal growth,” Soleil explains. “The song captures the bittersweet process of letting go while reclaiming the parts of yourself that someone else never gave you.”
That emotional progression is reflected throughout the record. Rather than simply dwelling in heartbreak, Soleil uses the experience as a launching point for reflection and empowerment. The result is a song that can speak to anyone who has had to confront the reality of a relationship that no longer serves them while learning to recognize their own value.
The accompanying music video takes that emotional journey even further. Directed by Riccardo Solorzano, the visual moves between black-and-white and color, creating a cinematic representation of the song’s contrasting emotions — solemnity on one side and hope on the other.
Soleil delivers a commanding performance throughout the visual, while the incorporation of crowd applause gives the video the energy of a live performance. The approach reinforces the connection between Soleil and her audience, making “Heart Strings” feel less like a traditional music video and more like an intimate musical experience.
Behind the record is a talented team of musicians and creatives. Soleil co-wrote “Heart Strings” with CJ Hilton, who also produced the track. Richard Boisrond contributes guitar, Moises Lenare handles drums, Josh Walton plays bass, and Juan Santiago adds keys. Renowned engineer Paolo Angulo handled the mixing and mastering.
For Soleil, music has always been about creating connections across genres and environments. Originally from New York and now based in Miami, she has developed an artistic identity that moves comfortably between Soul, R&B, Blues, EDM, Disco House, Deep House, Amapiano, Afrobeats, Baile Funk, and Pop.
Her versatility has taken her to stages including Carnegie Hall, Miami Beach Bandshell, Hard Rock Live, the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel, The Underline, and Sofar Sounds. She has also performed at Art Basel activations, FedEx’s Formula One corporate event, Funky Buddha Festival, and Spirit Airlines’ #Music4Miles concert series, while continuing to build her presence as a DJ throughout Miami and internationally.
Her work has also received recognition from outlets including Grammy.com, Billboard Argentina, Dancing Astronaut, EDM Sauce, Rolling Stone India, EARMILK, We Rave You, ELEVATOR, and The Hype Magazine.
Beyond her own music, Soleil continues to invest in the next generation of artists. As a voting member of The Recording Academy and a member of its Florida Chapter Songwriters & Composers Committee, she also mentors emerging talent through Grammy U, Women in Music, and Symphonic Distro. Her involvement with the Next Generation Music Foundation allows her to help youth in foster care explore music education and mentorship.
“Heart Strings” arrives ahead of Soleil’s upcoming single “Rubbish,” which will also receive a visual treatment.
With “Heart Strings,” Soleil proves that heartbreak doesn’t have to be the end of the story. Sometimes, it can be the beginning of finding your voice, rediscovering your worth, and becoming comfortable with the person you are becoming.
