Snoop Dogg Asks the Big Question with New Album Iz It a Crime?

Just five months after shaking the game with Missionary, Snoop Dogg is back with Iz It a Crime?, a 21-track statement piece dropping Thursday, May 15. The album features an eclectic mix of collaborators, including Pharrell Williams, Sexyy Red, Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Bereal, Jane Handcock, and October London. The title track leans into nostalgia, flipping Sade’s classic “Is It a Crime” into something wholly Snoop.

“This album is about questions,” Snoop told Access Hollywood. “Is it a crime to be who I am? To show love, take care of people, stay true to myself?” For the Long Beach legend, it’s deeper than music—it’s a reflection of legacy.

Now firmly in control of Death Row Records, Snoop continues to lead by example, using his voice not just to entertain, but to empower. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, he shared his motivation: “I should treat myself like a musician, not just a rapper. Musicians make music until they die.”

Snoop isn’t here to follow rules—he’s here to bend them. Iz It a Crime? proves once again that he’s not just part of hip-hop history—he’s still writing it.
