Shyra Sanchez Finds Freedom Through Music on New Single “Dance With Me”

For Shyra Sanchez, music has always been more than entertainment—it’s been a pathway to healing, empowerment, and self-expression. Following the breakout success of her debut single “Operator,” which topped the DRT Global Top 100 Independent Airplay Chart and amassed more than 2.5 million video views, the Billboard-charting artist is entering a bold new era with her latest release, “Dance With Me.” Drawing inspiration from her own experiences using movement to navigate stress and self-doubt, Sanchez describes the Dance and EDM anthem as an invitation to let go, embrace freedom, and rediscover joy through music. As a singer, dancer, producer, fitness entrepreneur, and motivational speaker, she continues to use every facet of her platform to inspire authenticity and remind others that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply move.

Tha Culture Report: Congratulations on the release of “Dance With Me.” You describe the song as an invitation to let go and find freedom through movement. What was happening in your life that inspired this message?

Shyra Sanchez: Dancing has always been how I reset and get out of my head. I wanted to make something that pulls people onto the floor and lets them drop the weight of the day, even for a few minutes.

Tha Culture Report: Your debut single “Operator” has had tremendous success, from topping the DRT Global Chart to surpassing 2.5 million video views. How has that response impacted your confidence and approach going into this new chapter?

Shyra Sanchez: It meant a lot. Seeing “Operator” connect like that, topping the DRT chart and crossing 2.5 million views, told me people are ready for big, fun dance records. It didn’t change who I am, it just made me trust my instincts more going into this next chapter. I’m leaning into what I love instead of second-guessing it.

Tha Culture Report: You wear many hats as a singer, dancer, producer, fitness entrepreneur, and motivational speaker. How do these different aspects of your career influence one another creatively?

Shyra Sanchez: They all feed each other. The dancer in me hears music as movement, so I’m thinking about how a song will feel on the floor while I’m still making it. The fitness side keeps me disciplined and connected to my body, and that shows up in the performances. It’s all one thing to me, just different ways of telling the same story.

Tha Culture Report: You’ve spoken openly about the healing power of dance. In what ways has music and movement helped you navigate stress, self-doubt, or difficult moments in your own life?

Shyra Sanchez: Movement is where I go to clear my head. When things feel heavy or I’m doubting myself, getting in my body and dancing pulls me out of it. It’s not a fix for everything, but it has always helped me come back to myself.

Tha Culture Report: “Dance With Me” leans heavily into Dance and EDM. What drew you to this sound, and how do you hope listeners connect with the energy of this record?

Shyra Sanchez: Dance music is just where I come alive. It’s joyful, it’s physical, and it brings people together in a way not much else does. With “Dance With Me,” I want listeners to feel that lift the second the beat hits, like the floor is the one place nobody’s judging you and you can just be.

Tha Culture Report: Growing up in a multicultural household in Northern California, what musical influences helped shape the artist you’ve become today?

Shyra Sanchez: Growing up around so many different cultures and sounds, I never boxed myself into one genre. I heard a little of everything, and it taught me that music is a universal language. Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Prince, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue all influenced me. That mix is why my sound moves between pop, dance, and a bit of everything.

Tha Culture Report: You’ve collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Dave Audé and acclaimed choreographer Travis Payne. What are some of the most valuable lessons you’ve learned from working alongside industry veterans?

Shyra Sanchez: Working with people at that level teaches you to trust the work and stay open. Dave hears a record and knows exactly how to make it hit on a dance floor, and that taught me to think about energy, not just melody. Travis is all about precision and turning feeling into movement, so he pushed me to be intentional with every detail. Mostly they remind me that being a pro means showing up prepared and still leaving room for magic.

Tha Culture Report: Beyond music, you’re passionate about mentoring emerging talent and championing self-expression, especially for young women. What advice would you give to someone who is afraid to fully embrace who they are?

Shyra Sanchez: Start small and stop waiting to feel ready. The version of you that you’re hiding is usually the most interesting one. You don’t have to have it all figured out; you just have to be honest about what you actually want and take one step toward it. People connect with real, not perfect.

Tha Culture Report: Mental wellness and empowerment are recurring themes throughout your work. Why is it important for you to use your platform to have those conversations?

Shyra Sanchez: Because I know how much it helps just to feel seen. If people are listening, I’d rather use that to remind them they’re not alone and that taking care of your head isn’t weakness. It costs me nothing to be honest about it, and it might be the thing someone needed to hear that day.

Tha Culture Report: As you prepare for the release of “Dance With Me” and upcoming live performances, what do you hope fans take away from this next era of Shyra Sanchez?

Shyra Sanchez: I hope they feel the joy in it. This era is lighter, bolder, and more me than ever. If people walk away wanting to dance, feeling a little freer and a little more themselves, then I did my job.

As Shyra Sanchez steps into this exciting new chapter, she’s doing so with purpose, passion, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. Through “Dance With Me,” she’s inviting listeners to release their burdens, embrace self-expression, and reconnect with the simple joy of movement. If this new era is any indication of what’s to come, Shyra Sanchez isn’t just creating dance records—she’s creating experiences designed to uplift, empower, and remind people that healing can sometimes begin with a single step onto the dance floor.
