Rodney Bandz is no ordinary artist—he’s a musical machine: a fearless innovator, a natural people mover, and an unmistakable connoisseur of getting the party started. Bandz had ambitions of becoming a rapper as early as the 6th grade. But it wasn’t until a strikingly vivid dream—some might even call it a premonition—that his path truly lit up, revealing a future in which he could fulfill his lifelong dream and carve a place for himself in the industry. Since then, the self-proclaimed “DMV prodigy” has been hustling to make that dream a reality, pulling local legends and fellow creative minds into his orbit—all in the pursuit of crafting record-breaking, speaker-rattling tracks unlike anything heard before. Following his sonic intuition, he knows exactly how to make music that speaks to the moment, unafraid to “switch it up” by exploring and blending diverse musical styles—from trap, to pop, to bass-boosting party anthems. Each release shatters the expectations of the last, proving time and time again that Bandz is a creative force to be reckoned with: a name that people should take seriously, an artist paving his way to greatness one new track at a time.
“She Wanna Go Viral” has a secret weapon: it combines the talents of not just one, but three emerging powerhouses known for shaking up the 757 hip hop scene. Big Will a.k.a “The Party King,” sets the festivities in motion, introducing a chantable phrase that sticks in the brain and never lets go, commanding his bars over a relaxed, rhythmic trap beat designed for shaking hips and getting fans on their feet. Then Stu Money steps to the mic, floating over the melody with impeccable ease, before Bandz steals the show, magnetising listeners with his sizzling bravado and clever hooks. In this story, it may be the girls who want to go viral—but it’s clear that Bandz already has what it takes to capture attention, honing in on a fresh, hard-hitting sound built for the club, the streets, or any party that needs a little oomph—and destined to catch like wildfire.
Let’s just say Bandz and his crew know how to live it up and party like there’s no tomorrow. In the “She Wanna Go Viral” music video, what starts as a familiar viral balloon-popping game show turns quickly into a full-blown extravaganza, complete with done-up women, salacious dances, swaggering personalities, and plenty of red solo cups. There probably isn’t a better group of people to climb into a party limo with—their enthusiasm and wired energy bounce off the walls, seep through the screen, infecting viewers with an unshakable impulse to throw a rager of their own. Bandz is truly in his element, and everything from the vibrant effects to the energetic cuts to the creative title cards—helps mold the ideal viral video: something easy to share with friends, something that sparks a smile without even trying, and most importantly, something that gives hustlers like Bandz a rare opportunity to let loose and enjoy the ride.
She Wanna Go Viral” is packed with energy from the first beat. What made you want to bring this one to life?
At my current state of life in the industry, I have a point to prove, and that’s to stand on my word to fans and the ones I inspire, and that’s to make a hit record. So when I played this beat for weeks in traffic, I sat back, daydreamed, and visualized a party and fun. Make this a record that can be used in many ways for parties and fun, guaranteed to be timeless
You teamed up with Stu Money and Big Will on the track. How did that collaboration come about, and what do you think makes your chemistry work so well?
I’ve been a fan of Stu Money since watching him perform 32 zips for the first time at Shakas Live in 2019. I studied the artist as a whole, but what stood out was his charisma. That night, going home, I turned on his album and I noticed his versatility immediately, navigating through his Albums. I invited him to collab on a track named “Triggaman slide’ inspired by his track Triggaman. We joined forces around 23 and made it happen. At that point, I figured I had earned his trust in creativity and invited him to create something different to showcase his skills with neighboring genres. He played a major role in She wanna go viral. It was his idea to bring in Big Will to give the track more leverage and bring out the lady and to amplify a shot out role in my original verse. I trusted his instincts, and the rest was history.
Big Will opens with that unforgettable chant. Did you know from the start it was going to be the hook that carried the track?
Absolutely not lol. He sold me a formula, and I let him work his play. Big will use an extreme thought process. He used pieces of Stu’s money verse as a direction to appeal to women, social media, parties, and fun. Great minds working together, and his recipe was absolutely genius. His hype man instincts and voice were a driving force to get the ladies motivated; that’s what he does. He’s the party King for a reason
• Stu Money’s verse has a smooth, effortless feel before your part kicks in. How do you approach blending different flows and personalities on the same record?
Iron sharpens iron. Stus’s jokes, energy, and charisma pushed me in Character mode, making it comfortable to switch it up and bring more fun to the record
• The beat has a laid-back trap bounce, but it still hits like a club anthem. What kind of sound were you aiming for when building the track?
Definitely trap techno, EDM feel. I feel we can all go in the studio and make records all day. But the assignment here was definitely when you hear this beat, let’s get the party started shot out to Grammy-nominated producers Ric and Thadeus by the way
• The video takes the idea of going viral and flips it into a wild party setting. Where did the inspiration for that concept come from?
20 v1 were very popular at the time. So why not turn one ti a party!
• On screen, the vibe looks real, not staged. Was the energy while filming as crazy as it looks in the final cut?
Shot out, Rayzr, this video was a true testament of his skill set with the amount of vibes and party favors. I think we all woke up the next day hungover lol. We had so much fun, I was afraid we forgot we were shooting a video, but Rayzr was sure to capture enough at our focused point to make it a success
• You’ve called yourself the “DMV prodigy,” and this track feels like a big step toward proving it. How does representing your hometown shape your sound?
Me being from the DMV *DC, MD, VA ending up in Hampton Roads as an inspiring Artist with only one true friend in the beginning here, who truly believed in my talent (MR STAINLESS) was a challenging journey. So I’m forever grateful my talents were accepted early on by artists like Agonie, Quamin blkrican, Cho beezy, tfrum daP, etc. I feel like sometimes surrounding roots and energy is needed to propel sound and escape our normal creative patterns and the more chemistry I develop on this scene with other artists, one day they’ll remember the Man from the DMV who was different and just wanted to make Hits.
• Since the song is all about going viral, how do you keep your focus on long-term artistry while also tapping into what’s trending right now?
I’m always looking to do what’s different on the scene from what I see daily. What can I do to make a change and inspire those looking to thrive in the industry one day? My goal is to tap in with unique artists I see rising on the scene, those that are daring. For example, Wuanno Savvo from Atlanta is super trendy, not afraid to be himself. Cho Beezyy, for example, any time I throw him a beat away from his normal style, he’s able to dig in his mental and create. The youth is a key to the future
• Before we wrap, what can fans look forward to next from you—more collaborations, solo records, or maybe a bigger project in the works?
Right now, I’m creating my Legacy Album 3-piece No Mistress. Featuring many rising artists like Paco Panama, Brizzy Jae, 757 Big Keesh, and more. I’m taking my time creating the Masterpiece, but definitely be on the lookout for upcoming singles and New videos from past projects to pass the time Until Dinner is Ready. Be sure to check out my latest projects, Cheat codes and G codes, Don’t Believe me, ask the homies Busta Brown, The Hurt pt1, and Pray 4 $torms
