Pastor Jamaal Shares Latest Release “Global Word”

Pastor Jamaal is “not your average Pastor”—he’s a musical innovator, a proud weaver of street culture and spiritual consciousness. Born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Augusta, Georgia, he first made waves as Dubble A, a locally renowned rapper. Climbing the ranks, he shook up the scene, building a growing fanbase, earning numerous awards, and gaining regional acclaim. Drawing inspiration from legends like James Brown, Lil Wayne, Tupac, and many others, his sound defies genre—but it’s always raw, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in real-life experience. Determined to hit the global stage, Pastor Jamaal sought widespread recognition—but the harsh road to fame left him unfulfilled. Instead, something else commanded his attention—an undeniable spiritual calling. So he flipped the script—embarking on a journey that transformed his life. Music and ministry are two sides of the same coin—each a pillar of his greater purpose. Through both, he seeks to inspire—encouraging others to overcome their struggles and find hope and healing on their life journeys. With a new album set to release at the end of the month—this “Cultivated” artist is using his music as a vessel for good—spreading the powerful Word of God beyond Augusta and into the hearts of listeners worldwide.

A single refrain in “Global Word” rises above the rest— “You cannot hinder me.” With God guiding him toward salvation, Pastor Jamaal is unstoppable—no enemies, temptations, or hardship can shake his resolute perseverance. Having endured unimaginable adversity in recent years—he now stands firm, channeling his pain into praise. Infused with familiar elements of pop and hip-hop, “Global Word” is uniquely comforting, motivating, and compelling. Most of all, it’s honest. More than an undeniable anthem of encouragement, “Global Word” is a profound celebration of healing and self-discovery—a testament to fully letting go. Baring it all, he sings his heart out,   at last surrendering to peace through faith. From the mountaintop, he calls out to those on the brink of darkness—urging them to turn toward the Light. Because from where he stands—there’s hope, wisdom, and strength just ahead. Though “Global Word” is deeply personal—detailing his journey and its many bumps in the road—its message transcends—destined to stir the soul of anyone seeking the courage to overcome their next obstacle armed with positivity and perseverance.

Taking to the streets of his hometown—Augusta, Georgia—the “Global Word” music video delivers a thrilling, “on-the-ground” experience that perfectly complements the track’s urban soundscape. In collaboration with Flüency Photography, viewers get an inside peek into Pastor Jamaal’s world—the town that shaped him, the messages that move him, and the person who takes up the biggest space in his heart; his son. Bookending the visual is raw footage that accentuates their unbreakable bond—smiling ear-to-ear as they launch from the slingshot in Kissimmee, Florida. The joy radiating from the screen isn’t magic or illusion—it’s the manifestation of faith, resilience, and renewal. Filming in front of the R&B Hall of Fame mural, Pastor Jamaal pays homage to the legends who deeply influenced the genre—while emerging as a bit of a musical influencer himself. But one thing is clear: this force of vibrant artistry and inspiration is here with his people, sharing his shining a light on his roots and the journey that carried him from turbulence to triumph.

1. What motivated you to channel your spiritual calling into making music?

I have always felt my spiritual calling was music since I was a child. I started writing poetry as a young boy and then began writing music to be sung by choirs. This evolved into me performing Christian Rap in my teenage years. Even though I preached my first sermon at 10 years of age, I have always had a passion for music, writing and instruments. It is very natural for me to preach through my music.

2. How do you go about blending elements of pop, hip-hop, and gospel into your music to craft a unique sound?

Well it’s very natural to me. I am a blend of pop, hip-hop and gospel. For those genres of music are embedded in my soul. I grew up listening to my mom and dad playing gospel music while simultaneously listening to pop music groups such as 5ive, Nsync and Spice Girls. As I entered into my teenage years I started listening to Camron and Ludacris who were rap superstars at the time. So all of these different artists shaped my taste and love for music. My relationship with God takes precedence over everything. Therefore the pop/hip-hop sound will always have a spiritual influence over the lyrics. Whatever is in you, will naturally come out and that’s just what happens. I literally freestyled “Global Word.”

3. “Global Word” is an uplifting, happy track—why is it important for you to spread positivity in your music?

It’s important because I have been through so much in my life. Many times we tend to get lost in our trials and tribulations. It can be challenging to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but there is hope! I know I can use what I have been through to give people hope! When you listen to my album ‘Cultivated’ , you will hear my story of how I went through a very difficult divorce. It involved a double betrayal with my ex- wife and the pastor who ordained me. And an even more horrifying event was when my son was kidnapped from me for 6 months. I did not know where he lived. When I went to court to fight for custody, the same church I preached at for a decade turned against me and made false accusations about me. It was a full fledged attack on my sanity, character and relationship with my son. It was not an easy season of my life and I even thought about taking my life. However God surrounded me with His love and strength through His Word, my friends, and family. God is such a good Father and I not only felt led to create music telling my testimony but also to create songs that capture extreme positivity. This world needs all the positive energy it can get! God’s love toward us is so powerful , it can be felt even through the darkest of times. Trust me. I know. Through Jesus we become the light of the world and I believe “Global Word” contains that light for a dark world.

4. The “Global Word” music video has an “on-the-ground” feel—talk to us a little bit about your vision for the visual and how you brought it to life.

The music video was captured in the city I was raised in, which is Augusta, GA. I made a huge name for myself as a rapper through networking online and in the streets of my city. This independent promotion brought me on radio, television, newspapers, and also 2 regional CSRA Hip-Hop & R & R&B Awards. I remember this all happening from being the “boots-on-the ground”, distributing my own flyers and CDs under the alias Dubble A. Now I execute the same strategy as Pastor Jamaal to get the Global Word out about the ministry. Being “on-the-ground” is important to me, because we are all humans on this journey called life and there is no better way to communicate with people than being right there with them.

5. Talk to us a little bit about paying homage to R&B legends with the “Global Word” music video. What motivated you to film at the mural in Augusta?

James Brown is a big influence on the music industry and also on my hometown. He has positively affected the entire Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), because he is from this place. Beech Island, SC and Augusta, GA are places we both have lived and personally touched people’s lives. Though we do not make exactly the same type of music, we both have a positive sound and it is important to show honor to a legend from my city.

6. Was there a specific location or scene in the video that was particularly meaningful for you?

The mural with James Brown is important for reasons already stated. But the water fountain near the Augusta River-walk is meaningful as well. This water fountain symbolizes cleansing, renewal and peace. I enjoy this atmosphere within downtown Augusta. The different shops, food and the river itself expresses a world of culture. Though I am from Augusta, I have a Global Word of encouragement, love, boldness and transparency. My music and my ministry is not limited to Augusta. Jamaal Francois Ministries is international now. With the help of Derek Miles from Fluency Photography, I was able to capture a drone-shot that represents my vision for the world.

7. What has been the response to “Global Word’” so far from fans? Do you hope fans resonate with the song?

There are people who like it immediately and then there are some who have grown on. The feedback has been overall positive. Beyond the lyrics and the beat is the positive spirit of hope! Overcoming and testifying of love, grace and growth. No matter what your walk of faith is, I would hope you could resonate with never giving up. That is what I hope fans feel and hear from this song.

8. Do you see yourself continuing to balance music and ministry indefinitely? What is the next goal you would like to achieve in your musical career?

Absolutely. I do not feel that they are much different. Music is but another form of communication. Ministry is about love. The overall goal is to communicate love in spite of life’s hardships. The next goal I would like to achieve is the Global Word Music video gaining over 1 Million views on YouTube, my album Cultivated becoming #1 in Rap/Hip-Hop as well as Gospel/Christian Rap, and being awarded nationally and internationally for my musical contributions. Cultivated is released on all major music platforms on my birthday 3-31-2025.
