Mary J. Blige Scoops Remy Ma To Tell It How It Is In “Gone Forever” Feat. DJ Khaled

Mary J. Blige commemorates her birthday today, January 11, by dropping a vibrant new video for her latest track, “Gone Forever” featuring Remy Ma and DJ Khaled. In this no-nonsense anthem, the R&B icon declares to a love interest that she won’t tolerate anyone playing with her heart, belting out, “‘Cause when a good girl’s gone / She’s gone forever / Now you gotta deal with the fact you did me wrong forever.”

The accompanying party-themed video showcases Blige flaunting various looks in a club, surrounded by friends enjoying glasses of her Sun Goddess wine. Both Remy Ma and DJ Khaled make appearances in the visually appealing production. “Gone Forever” is a track from Blige’s Grammy-nominated album, “Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe),” which hit the shelves on May 6, 2022. This release marks her first video since “Come See About Me” featuring Fabolous, premiering in June 2022.

Blige’s musical journey continued in October 2023 with the release of “Still Believe in Love,” a standalone single featuring rapper Vado. The track, sampled from Mtume, is accompanied by a summer-inspired video filmed in Italy. As of now, “Still Believe in Love” has maintained its position at No. 1 for the third consecutive week on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, marking Blige’s lengthiest run at the top since 2017’s “U + Me (Love Lesson)” from the album Strength of a Woman.

In a few weeks, Blige is set to receive the Entertainment Icon Award at the 2024 Urban One Honors. Michelle L. Rice, president of TV One and CLEO TV, lauded Blige, stating that her talent and award-winning music have significantly shaped culture, especially the elevation of female artists in R&B and Hip Hop across generations. The Urban One Honors ceremony will be broadcast on Sunday, February 25th at 8 p.m. on TV One.
