How do you feel your style has evolved since first starting music, and how would you describe your current style?
My style is “Godly Inspiration.” Entertaining yet encouraging music for everybody to feel inspired by. Whether upbeat or slow and smooth, I wish for all to feel truth and feeling in my words. Whether religious or in relationships, always Universal.
Was there a specific moment when you knew you had to follow your calling to make gospel music?
When God delivered “Are You Ready” to me in a dream, I knew He wanted me to do something special with my lyrics. So obvious.
The song is intimate, yet very powerful—what emotions or themes were you aiming to capture in the song?
In my latest song “Amazing,” I strive to give witness to the way God has been there for me and pray others see His works in their world as well.
What role does gratitude play in this project?
The gratitude I feel in this song is expressed in how He comforts me in the midnight hour and how He takes my hand and makes me understand. Prayerfully, I hope that all my audience see this also.
What does the phrase “My God Is Amazing” mean for you in your everyday life?
My song “Amazing” is so very special in that it expresses my God’s presence felt throughout my day and my dedication to Him. It is a song one can listen to and sing all day long and enjoy.
Tell us about your outfit in the “My God Is Amazing” music video. What inspired you to incorporate your faith into your wardrobe?
Wardrobe- Just like my music, I like my clothes to represent my feelings. This religious expression jacket I wore I had purchased with other garments as well. I had no special intentions for it except to wear it eventually. When I planned my video, it was just hanging there brand new, and something told me, “This is what you are wearing.” It was so meant to be.
How do you balance personal storytelling with creating something universal for listeners?
Well, rarely do I write simple stories. My works are always truthful and from the heart. And so separation is not needed. My works are all the same. Inspirational and Truth as I see it.
How do you feel now that the final product of “My God Is Amazing” has been released? What aspects of the project are you most proud of?
Witnessing how God has been there for me and being able to express these things in a God Given song is what I am most proud of.
