In light of the state of emergency declared for Georgia by Governor Brian Kemp, the highly anticipated AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival & 5K Run, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Piedmont Park, has been postponed. Event organizers are working to secure a new date, but the mission remains unchanged: to raise critical funds for the 14 local organizations dedicated to combating Atlanta’s rising HIV/AIDS crisis.
Despite the delay, participants are urged to continue their fundraising efforts toward the $1 million goal. With metro Atlanta leading the state in new HIV diagnoses, the fight is far from over. Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled event by visiting aidswalkatlanta.org and following @aidshealthcare and @ahf_aidswalkatlanta5k on social media.
Hip-hop royalty Lil’ Kim is set to light up the stage at this year’s AIDS Walk Atlanta Music Festival and 5K Run, happening Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Piedmont Park. The Queen Bee will be the main headliner for the 33rd annual event, bringing her legendary status to a cause that continues to impact millions— the fight against HIV/AIDS. Joining her will be the soulful viral sensation Durand Bernarr, promising a show Atlanta won’t want to miss.
Presented by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), this event combines community activism with live music, raising over $1 million every year for 13 local HIV/AIDS organizations, including AID Atlanta, Georgia Equality, and Thrive Support Services. Past performers include heavy hitters like Ludacris, Ashanti, Monica and Trina, but this year’s lineup is set to be just as fire, with Lil’ Kim front and center.
This isn’t the first time Kim has aligned herself with the cause. Back in 2021, she headlined AHF’s Florida AIDS Walk, using her platform to raise awareness about the ongoing battle against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Now, she’s bringing that same energy to ATL to educate and empower the local community.
The event kicks off with a 5K walk/run through Atlanta’s iconic Midtown neighborhood, followed by a concert that’s sure to be a vibe. To get involved, register, or donate, check out aidswalkatlanta.org.
Lil’ Kim continues to show that the legacy of hip-hop isn’t just about the music—it’s about making moves that matter.
