Lil Durk Arrested In Alleged Murder-For-Hire Plot

The hip-hop world was hit with major news as Lil Durk, one of Chicago’s most recognized rappers, was arrested Thursday on federal charges related to a murder-for-hire scheme. Authorities allege that Durk, born Durk Banks, ordered an attack on a rival that led to a fatal shooting near L.A.’s Beverly Center in 2022. The arrest happened as Durk arrived near Miami International Airport, apparently trying to leave the country.
According to the Justice Department, Durk’s connection with the Chicago-based OTF (Only the Family) collective reportedly played a significant role in the alleged crime. The charges point to an ongoing feud with a figure identified as “T.B.” and are rooted in a complex history involving the 2020 murder of Durk’s close friend, King Von. Court documents allege that Durk directed several individuals to travel from Chicago to Los Angeles to carry out the hit, resulting in the tragic death of a family member of T.B. during the incident.
Law enforcement agencies in multiple states were involved in Durk’s arrest, with FBI officials emphasizing that “no one is beyond reach.” The Justice Department underscored their commitment to holding accountable those engaging in violent gun crimes, especially in public spaces where innocent lives are at risk. Lil Durk is currently in federal custody and is expected to be transferred to Los Angeles in the coming weeks for arraignment. This case could bring severe consequences for Durk and others involved, with life in federal prison as a possible outcome if convicted.
