West Coast mainstay Kalan.FrFr is all about taking risks. Today, he reflects on his experiences while drawing parallels to the uncertainties of hustle culture on new single “Dice Game.”

Over a hard-hitting instrumental, Kalan captivates listeners with a blazing street anthem. As he unravels the events that progress on the road to riches, Kalan’s raps about his money-making habits are the anchor that holds the song together: “Ride around the city with a pack in my coat / Five hour job cause the money counter broke / Keep it P, you never got no money out that hoe / Keep it G, you never got no money out that road.”
“Dice Game” closely follows the announcement of Kalan’s upcoming album with Mozzy titled LUCKY HER. The album, due Friday, Dec. 20, is primed for widespread acclaim and marks the duo’s first-ever collaborative project. Ahead of its release, Kalan and Mozzy recruited New Orleans firebrand Rob49 for “BBL,” the debut single and music video from their forthcoming joint effort – WATCH HERE.
This all builds on the momentum of Kalan’s critically acclaimed EP MAKE THE WEST GREAT AGAIN released earlier this year, featuring appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, YG, G Herbo, and Spooky Jay. Since then, his prestige has grown considerably. In June, he performed at Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth ‘Pop Out’ concert, where he was joined onstage by G Perico to perform their collab “Right Wit It” during DJ Hed’s set. He quickly followed that up with another energetic showcase on the 2024 BET Awards Pre-Show stage. In addition, Kalan brought back his annual event, TwoFr Day, for its fifth installment and supplied local communities with free food, school supplies, shoes, and much more.
Needless to say, it has been an overall busy year for the South Central-bred rapper.
Continuing to ride the high of his all-star remix to “EVERYBODY,” Kalan.FrFr has embraced his workhorse role in hip-hop. He’s a different kind of superstar and is squarely positioned to cap off a banner year for the West Coast.
