FKi 1ST Drops New Project Sleeping With Shoes On

FKi 1ST is an award-winning producer, rapper, songwriter, DJ and artist hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member of the production and songwriting team FKi. Touching the alternative music scene, he is known for infusing Atlanta trap and EDM, creating melodic instrumentation. His production has yielded 10 Gold and Platinum records, including the recent 5x Platinum viral hit “White Iverson” by Post Malone, Iggy Azalea “Work,” Travis Porter’s “Bring It Back” & ”Make It Rain” and the Platinum urban smash “Watch Out” by 2 Chainz. The award winning producer just dropped a new project titled Sleeping With Shoes On. In a recent interview FKi 1st explained what was the motivation behind the project.

The idea behind the album was born out of a desire to create a unique sound that would combine the essence of relaxation, tranquility, lofi and Atlanta trap, coining the genre lofye. We wanted to explore the concept of creating music that would help listeners unwind and let go of their worries, almost like falling asleep with shoes still on. We live in a fast-paced and unpredictable world so creating an album to help someone relax and find that inner peace is a brilliant idea. SWSO explained the meaning behind the title in a recent interview.

The phrase ‘sleeping with shoes on’ can have different meanings depending on the context and the person. In the context of my work as an artist and producer, it is a metaphor for going through the motions of life without being present or mindful, and is one of the themes explored in our new album “sleeping with shoes on.” It represents the idea that sometimes we get so caught up in our daily routines that we forget to be present in the moment.
