DMV Artist Benji Elohim Talks Music and More

Benji Elohim, a DMV-based artist described by her friends as “humorous, diligent, and zealous”. Benji was born in Baltimore. She was raised between DC and PG with a few years in SC. Benji grew up listening to a tremendous range of artists such as Nicki Minaj, Carrie Underwood, Lil Wayne, Ace Hood, and Tye Tribbett. Since a child poetry was an escape from a challenging reality for Benji. This is why Benji makes music to not just process the downpour but also to dance in the sun. During the past year, Benji partnered with Fairhill Studios as a recording engineer while also being a self-taught producer. Music was always a passion of Benji’s yet she did not evolve into a serious independent artist until she dropped “Dark Side” in 2022. She has been rocking the mic at Golf Lounge with DJ Telopath and some other venues throughout the city over the year while uploading some of those performances on her YouTube Channel. “I’m the Malak chosen by Elohim,” she says. “ My music is the delivery.” Check out out our interview with Benji below.
