DJ PREMIER & RANSOM ANNOUNCE NEW COLLABORATIVE PROJECT ‘THE REINVENTION’

After giving fans what they wanted with The Coldest Profession, his collaborative union with Roc Marciano, DJ Premier (you can now purchase tickets for this Winter’s “He’s The Preemo I’m The Chemist” European Tour With The Alchemist) is back and he enlisted another elite sniper—Ransom!

DJ Premier and Ransom have officially announced their joint project, The Reinvention, which will be released on 10.31.25.  The duo also released the project’s first single and video, “Amazing Graces,” which is now available at all DSP’s.  You can watch the new video for “Amazing Graces” below.  “Amazing Graces” will also be featured on NBA 2K26 Beats Official Soundtrack, with in-game billboards starting in early November.

The Reinvention represents a meeting of two master craftsmen — one whose fingerprints are woven into the DNA of hip-hop production, and another who is recognized by peers and fans alike as one of the best pound-for-pound emcees alive and one who has prioritized substance over spectacle. 

The result is The Reinvention.  A project with an aesthetic rooted in timelessness: and a return to true craftsmanship in an age of shortcuts. Premier and Ransom showcase a shared commitment to create a project that is not only a transformational musical experience, but one that is the epitome of streetwise—and resonates as exacting and precise. 

“I’m a way bigger Rap fan than I am a “Rapper,” so I am living my dreams out in real time,” added Ransom. “Creating with DJ Premier is a Hip-Hop dream of mine.” Duffle Bag Ran then demonstrates that by seamlessly weaving in no less than five Gang Starr album titles over the course of a few bars on “Amazing Graces.” 

“Underground Hip Hop has consistently dominated the scene, and it’s because of approaches like Ransom- raw, uncut bars that cater to the streets,” DJ Premier asserted. “With the musical landscapes I provide, you can go into this, and know it’s going to be 5 stars.”
