Daz Dillinger Sues 2Pac’s Estate Over Alleged Unpaid Royalties

Daz Dillinger is taking legal action against Amaru Entertainment over alleged unpaid royalties connected to his work with 2Pac.
According to newly filed court documents, Daz claims the label improperly profited from music he helped create while failing to fully account for the royalties tied to his contributions. Amaru Entertainment, founded by 2Pac’s mother Afeni Shakur following the rapper’s death, currently manages much of Pac’s posthumous catalog.
Daz played a major role in All Eyez On Me, contributing production and songwriting to several tracks on the classic album, including “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” and “I Ain’t Mad at Cha.”
And now, he says he wants answers.
The lawsuit claims Daz previously demanded royalty statements, accounting records, and copies of agreements tied to the music in October 2024. While he reportedly received a payment of more than $91,000 afterward, he alleges no detailed royalty breakdown was ever provided explaining how the figure was calculated.
According to the filing, Daz believes additional money may still be owed.
The lawsuit also states that many original agreements and royalty records may have been handled by third parties over the years, making proper accounting even more important now.
For hip-hop fans, the case shines another spotlight on the complicated business side of legendary rap catalogs, especially when multiple contributors helped build records that still generate money decades later.
