Reportedly, the Los Angeles Superior Court judge has approved the dismissal of the false imprisonment claim initiated by Emani Ellis, the security guard who instigated the legal action against rap artist Cardi B. Additionally, the court has opted to postpone trial; moving it from February to April.
In 2020, Ellis alleged that, while working as security at a medical building, she approached Cardi B and requested a photo, leading to an altercation. Ellis claimed that Cardi B physically assaulted her, using racial slurs and profanities. The lawsuit contended that Cardi B’s actions resulted in Ellis losing her job. A noteworthy element in the incident was Cardi B’s alleged pregnancy with her daughter Kulture at the time, which was not publicly disclosed. Ellis maintained that Cardi B’s celebrity status was exploited by her team to influence the termination of her employment.
Although the lawsuit sought unspecified damages, Cardi B vehemently denies all accusations.
