Class of ‘24 DB Marshaun Bowers is looking to make a statement his senior year. Bowers is a 5’10 190 lbs DB who can play both ways. A fearless young man who was introduced to the game at a very young age. Growing up Bowers attended his Uncle’s high school football games, which would spark his interest in playing football with hopes of one day being under the “Friday Night Lights”. He sat on the sidelines during his Uncle’s games and felt the impact of the energy that the game brings. That first hand experience sparked the dawg in young Marshaun.
He plays DB, Safety, Nickel, and Slot, displaying his competitive nature each time he steps on the field. Bowers contribute the time in 8th grade when he caught his first in-game pick that was a game changing moment, as when he knew he could play the game with the best of them. A tremendous confidence boost that ignited a hunger inside of him. An exciting moment for a young athlete who has been playing football since he was 5 years old. Bowers 8th grade, freshman, and junior seasons stand out to Marshaun as he stated “those seasons I feel I played well, and was the most fun for me so far”.
Marshaun Bowers has a knack for the ball, making catches on the offensive side and causing incompletions (if he doesn’t get a pick) on the defensive side. His favorite position to play is Nickel. Bowers also takes pride in causing havoc on defense, going against the opposing team’s best receivers and denying them the ball. Bowers ability to shutdown opposing teams best receivers is exceptional for his age. Teams have avoided his side of the field in numerous games throughout his high school career. Bowers is a competitor who gives it his all until the final whistle is blown.
Growing up in Knoxville, naturally he loves the atmosphere of the SEC games. His junior season ended with him winning a State Championship at West Knoxville High School. A moment that he’ll never forget.. and wants to repeat as a senior. Marshaun’s close friend’s passing inspires him, he plays with no fear and a chip on his shoulder from being overlooked. Bowers ran track in middle school and his freshman year.
He decided to run his junior year also while he works on improving his 40 yard time. Marshaun Bowers is a bright young man working hard to make his dreams a reality. During this off season Bowers plans to workout 5 days a week, do well in 7v7 and rack up some more offers before his senior season starts. Bowers is no stranger to hard work, he also understands to capitalize on the present. He constantly reminds himself, “Don’t miss your opportunity”, something he plans on not doing while building his name.
