BET is expanding its comedy lineup with a new original series that takes viewers behind the scenes of Hollywood, but not from the perspective you’d expect.
The network has officially released the trailer and premiere date for Lot Patrol, a new mockumentary-style comedy from Manny Halley Productions. The series is set to debut June 30 as part of BET’s new Tuesday night comedy block.
Instead of focusing on movie stars and directors, Lot Patrol centers on a group of eccentric security guards tasked with keeping order on the chaotic backlot of a major Hollywood studio. The trailer showcases a workplace filled with difficult actors, unpredictable crew members, and enough behind-the-scenes dysfunction to keep the guards constantly on their toes.
Leading the ensemble cast are familiar faces including DeRay Davis, Carl Anthony Payne II, Tamera Kissen, and Darius McCrary, alongside comedy veterans TK Kirkland, Alex Thomas, Skeet Carter, and Tanjareen Thomas.
Created by Manny Halley and Ernest L. Dancy, the series blends workplace comedy with mockumentary storytelling, offering a humorous look at the people working behind the scenes while Hollywood’s biggest personalities grab the spotlight. Director Erik White oversees the project, which BET has positioned as part of its ongoing push into original scripted comedy.
With its mix of industry satire, recognizable talent, and offbeat humor, Lot Patrol appears ready to bring a fresh perspective to the entertainment business, one security checkpoint at a time.
