A new AI-generated music video from Rich Homie Quan is creating major conversation online.
Released posthumously through Quan’s official channels, the visual for “Still Dead” uses artificial intelligence technology to recreate the late Atlanta rapper on screen nearly two years after his death. The video features AI-generated scenes of Quan walking through cemeteries, appearing in recording studios, and interacting with family members throughout the emotional visual.
Some supporters praised the visual as a heartfelt tribute that allows Quan’s legacy and unreleased music to continue reaching fans. Others, however, questioned whether AI should be used to recreate deceased artists at all, especially without direct public input from the artist themselves before passing away.
Social media quickly filled with debate surrounding consent, ethics, and how hip-hop should handle AI technology moving forward.
One thing many fans do agree on, though, is that the release reopened emotions surrounding Quan’s unexpected death in September 2024. The Atlanta rapper, known for hits like “Type of Way,” “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” and “Lifestyle,” remains one of the most influential melodic voices of 2010s Southern rap.
At this point, “Still Dead” has become more than just another posthumous release. It’s now part of a much larger conversation about AI, music, and legacy in hip-hop.
