Dua Lipa is taking legal action against Samsung after claiming the company used her image on product packaging without permission.
According to reports, the singer filed a lawsuit Friday in California alleging Samsung featured a photo of her performing at Austin City Limits Festival on television packaging beginning in 2025. The lawsuit claims Dua had no knowledge of the campaign and never approved her likeness being attached to the products.
And apparently, fans noticed immediately.
The complaint includes screenshots of social media posts from customers claiming Dua’s image actually influenced their decision to purchase the TVs. One fan reportedly wrote, “I wasn’t even planning on buying a TV but I saw the box so I decided to get it.”
Which honestly becomes a major point in the case itself.
Dua’s legal team argues she’s built a premium brand over the years and is extremely selective about endorsements and partnerships tied to her image. The lawsuit reportedly includes claims involving copyright violations, trademark issues, and unauthorized commercial use of her likeness.
The singer also claims she attempted to have the image removed after discovering it, but says Samsung refused.
As of now, Dua hasn’t publicly commented on the lawsuit.
