Big Boi Reflects on Outkast Legacy During New Episode of “Big Bro with Kid Cudi”

Kid Cudi and Big Boi linked up for a conversation hip-hop fans are definitely going to appreciate.

The latest episode of Big Bro with Kid Cudi, a Wave Original podcast series hosted by Cudi, features Big Boi sitting down to talk about everything from music and touring to family life, gardening, Pokémon, and even raising pet owls named Hootie and Houdini.

But naturally, the conversation found its way back to Outkast.

Big Boi reflected on the group’s legendary run alongside André 3000, breaking down the creative freedom behind albums like Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and the fearless approach that helped shape one of the most respected catalogs in rap history.

“To us, the music had no boundaries,” Big Boi shared while discussing Outkast’s creative process.

Cudi, clearly speaking as both a fan and collaborator, also opened up about finally getting the chance to work with Big Boi, calling him a “dream collaborator” and hinting at the possibility of creating something special together in the studio.

Outside of music, the episode takes a more personal turn too. Big Boi spoke about finding peace in the small things, gardening, cooking for family, and enjoying life differently now that his children are older.

And in true Big Boi fashion, he also admitted he’s deeply invested in Pokémon Go and proudly considers himself a “Pokémaster.”

Honestly, that tracks.

Check out the episode below, and catch new episodes of Big Bro with Kid Cudi every Wednesday on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other streaming platforms.
