Kickstarter and Tubi have teamed up to launch the FilmStream Collective, a bold new partnership giving independent filmmakers both funding and guaranteed distribution. The curated collection spotlights dozens of Kickstarter-backed films—over 20 of them brand-new additions—offering viewers a space dedicated to community-funded storytelling.
From horror to heartfelt drama, the FilmStream lineup showcases the diversity of today’s indie film scene, elevating women, Black creators, LGBTQ+ voices, and first-time directors shaping the future of cinema.
Standout titles include The Decedent by Andrew Bowser, a chilling tale of a mortician haunted by the spirit of a serial killer; Don’t Trip by Alex Kugelman, a psychological thriller about obsession and fame; and The Geechee Witch: A Book Hag Story from Fairfax Pictures, which blends ancestral folklore and Southern Gothic horror. The lineup also features God Said Give ’Em Drum Machines, Kristian R. Hill’s documentary honoring the Black Detroit pioneers who created Techno music and transformed global dance culture.
By merging Kickstarter’s grassroots energy with Tubi’s wide streaming reach, the FilmStream Collective is redefining how independent stories reach audiences—proving that authentic, community-backed storytelling still has a powerful place in modern entertainment.
