The wait is finally over – SZA’s long-anticipated SOS deluxe album, LANA, has officially arrived after a brief delay.
On Friday afternoon (December 20), the TDE songstress blessed fans with LANA, delivering 15 fresh tracks, including the highly buzzed-about collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, “30 For 30.” The track features the dynamic duo vibing over a smooth sample of Switch’s 1979 classic “I Call Your Name.” Kendrick and SZA trade bars and harmonize on the hook, bringing back that infectious chemistry fans have been craving.
“Walk, talk like Kendrick, like boss / Like Solána, I promise, more bugs, it’s a wasp,” Kendrick spits, keeping it cryptic yet fiery. “It’s a crater or a spaceship, shut the f**k up, get lost.”
A Slight Delay – But Worth the Wait
Fans had been anticipating the drop all week after SZA officially announced the release date alongside a teaser for her latest video Drive, starring none other than Ben Stiller. While LANA was initially slated to drop at midnight, the album faced a brief delay to ensure the mixes were perfect across platforms.
“Just needed a few more hours for new mixes to ingest evenly across all platforms .. (mixes are important) love you camp,” SZA shared with fans.
TDE president Punch also took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the delay, personally taking the blame. “It’s my fault,” he admitted, reassuring fans that the album would be out by noon.
SZA Keeps Fans Fed with New Visuals
While the wait lingered, SZA held fans over by dropping the visually stunning music video for Drive/Crybaby, which features an unexpected cameo from Ben Stiller. The video’s release gave fans a taste of what LANA had to offer, building even more excitement for the official album drop.
Now that LANA is out, SZA continues to solidify her reign in R&B, proving that even a small delay can’t stop her from owning the charts.
