Urban One has unveiled the lineup for the “URBAN ONE HONORS” set to be taped on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, GA. Themed “Best in Black,” the two-hour telecast will premiere during Black History Month on Sunday, February 25, 2024 on TV One and simulcast on CLEO TV.
The event is a celebration of Black Excellence, honoring individuals who have made remarkable achievements and significant contributions to the arts, media, music, and the community. This year’s honorees include Dionne Warwick, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Honoree; Chlöe, celebrated as the Generation Next Honoree; Frankie Beverly, recognized as a Living Legend, and Donald Lawrence, acclaimed for his Inspirational Impact.
Michelle Rice, President of TV One and CLEO TV, expressed delight in highlighting the musical journeys of these honorees, stating, “Their selection as honorees is a recognition of their profound impact on both music and culture, spanning generations. From soulful ballads to timeless contributions and contemporary brilliance, these iconic artists have not only shaped the musical landscape but have also contributed significantly to the cultural fabric of our society.”
The star-studded lineup of performers and presenters includes Teyana Taylor, Bebe Winans, Damon Little, Angie Stone, October London, and a reunion featuring KeKe Wyatt, Chanté Moore, and Nicci Gilbert (cast of R&B Divas), with additional names yet to be announced. LeToya Luckett, a GRAMMY™ Award-winning singer and actress, returns to host the event’s “Backstage Pass,” featuring exclusive interviews.
