Kanye West Drops Yeezy Pods, First Footwear Drop Since Adidas Separation

Kanye West has stepped into the footwear arena once again with the release of Yeezy Pods, marking his first foray into shoes since parting ways with Adidas. The announcement came via Ye’s Instagram on Thursday (Dec. 28), where he officially introduced his latest Yeezy product with a simple caption: “Yeezy.com.”

The accompanying clip showcased the distinct Black sock-shoe, unfolding and rotating to highlight its design. The footwear’s sole bears a resemblance to the YZY 500 silhouette, adding a touch of familiarity to the innovative design.

Priced at $200, the Yeezy Pods are available in three size options: 1, 2, and 3. The size chart breaks down the sizing as follows: “UNDER US 6 / EU 39; 2: US 7 – US 9.5 / EU 40 – 43; and 3: US 10 – US 13 / EU 44 – 47.” Currently open for pre-orders, the company promises delivery within four weeks.

This move follows Kanye West’s separation from Adidas in October 2022, prompted by comments many felt were anti-Semitic. Adidas, in response to West’s remarks, issued a statement expressing their intolerance for hate speech, stating that Ye’s recent comments and actions were unacceptable and violated the company’s values of diversity and inclusion. Consequently, Adidas severed ties with the producer, terminating the partnership, discontinuing the production of Yeezy-branded products, and halting all payments to Ye and his companies.

In an attempt to make amends, Kanye West issued an apology to the Jewish community on Wednesday (Dec. 27). Posting the message in Hebrew on his Instagram account, he expressed sincere regret for any unintended harm or disrespect caused by his words or actions, emphasizing that it was not his intention to hurt or disrespect.
